My mother in law, 83 years old, has a sharp pain in her inner thigh...new onset. It is the same lag that had a hip replacement 15 years ago...and thinks it may be related to that. The pain is better with rest. Considering her age, not sure if we should seek immediate attention. It is evening here so it would require a trip to the ER.
Take one x ray to rule out impending periprosthetic fracture.Tip of the prosthesis can erode the femoral cortex medially and weakens that part and can give rise to this type of thigh pain
