I have been experiencing sharp pains off and on that started just this am in my r leg just to the right of my upper shin, no recent injury and I have been simply standing or sitting when the pain occurs, it is very sharp but does not last long. I had a bone spur remove in April on that heel behind my Achilles tendon and have had pain and swelling ever since......I have had the pain about 6 times so far today.

For upper shin pain I believe it can be due to bone weakness also so do check your calcium and vitamin d and if it's less the start having it in supplement form. Also you can try deeming your leg till upper shin level in hot water for some time to improve blood circulation and relaxing effect on soft tissue. Do avoid brisk walking, long time standing, running or jumping activity because it can increase your problem. And only if it pains too much then you can take anti inflammatory with some pain killer but only if needed. Hope this was useful for you for any further guidelines you can also be in touch on nirajmodish@gmail.com. Take care
