Suggest Treatment For Shoulder Pain And Jerking Of Foot While Testing Reflexes

my father has been to hospital today as he is recieving physiotherapy for pain in his shoulder and hand, also back pain, he mentioned that he feels light headed and that his balance is affected also that his toes are curling as if trying to stablize him. The physiotherapist tested his reflexes the curling one was fine but when she pressed his foot towards his knee istead of his foot returning in a steady movement the foot jerked, shaked back into place. He was told he would have to return back to the hospital but not why! can you help?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

This sign (clonus) indicates a central nervous system disorder. For this reason, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam, a brain and cervical spine MRI.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
