Suggest Treatment For Shoulder Pain Associated With Swallowing Of Food
Hello. I'll try to the best of my ability to make my explanation as clear and concise as possible. For a short while now, I've noticed that whenever I swallow to eat food and drink liquids I experience a somewhat sharp short lived (only during the time I'm swallowing) pain located in my upper shoulder area, more specifically the back side of my body. Is my description clear enough for you?
1. Acid Reflux: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) may cause referred pain to the back in the region between the shoulder blades. Symptoms of GERD may also include chest pain, hoarseness, and difficulty swallowing. Not only untreated GERD can cause discomfort, but is associated with the later development of strictures and esophageal cancer. Inflammation of the pancreas may also cause this type of pain due to irritation to the underside of the diaphragm.
Treatment depends on the causative of the pain. First, confirm that Pain is not originating from your hear. Then, please consult your physician, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
