Suggest Treatment For Sinus Pressure And Headache

hello, I have been experiencing severe sinus pressure for the last day and today i took one dose of Alka-seltzer plus in the morning and another dose 4 hours later. After nno signs of improvment i took Mucinex:D 5 hours after the last dose of alka-seltzer plus. Almost imediatly my headache went away but the congestion stayed. It has been almost 2 hours since i took the mucinex and i currently have a resting heart rate of 112 Bpm. I am very currious if this is normal and if not what i should do.

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM! I understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to a sinus infection. This is a common complication during upper airways infections.

While the changes in your heart rate may be related to infection, anxiety or pain.

Have you measured your body temperature?

I recommend you consulting with your GP, for a careful physical examination, a routine blood test for infection, a sinus x ray and a sinus discharge culture.

Antibiotic therapy may be needed.

Hope to have been of help!

Greetings! Dr. Aida
