Suggest Treatment For Sinusitis Despite Taking Antibiotics
Hello, I have a question about my nasal mucus. I am currently sick with what doctors say is sinusitis, but none of the antibiotics are working. My nasal mucus looks very strange to. It is a normal clearish yellow but it has a lot of brown pieces in it, and I know it s not just dried up mucus. Please give me your thoughts.
about your question i would like to tell you that these symptoms you mentioned refer mainly to have sinus infection bacterial or viral or haviing allergy that increase your nasal discharge and forming mucus as reaction to allergy lead to consequences of rhinorhea and nasal discharge despite taking antibiotics ...........your feeling of these symptoms should not make you worry as it is common problem.....about what to do that you should first refer to ent doctor to examine your sinus and nose........you may need to do x ray of nose to role out any nasal problems...... you should be away from stress and anxiety and certain foods taht you feel increase symptoms when eating it because these will get symptoms worse.......you should also drink alot of warm fluids that will make you better ......you should also avoid smoking or staying in aplace where some one smoke.....you can gargle your nose with saline as simply it helps to decontaminate your nose from secretions. ..........some times we require nasopharyngeal swab for investigation if symptoms get worse to detect the causative organism and doing antibiotic sensitivity test as the causative organism may have resistance to types of antibiotics .......if bacterial infection suggested you will prescribed amoxicillin with clavulinic acid as it is antibiotic has great role in treatment of sinus infection.............wish you healthy life
