A burn wound would form new skin in about a week's time.
The goal of treatment is to prevent it from getting secondarily with bacteria till the wound heals and thus aid in healing process.
He should not wear gloves. Don't try to rupture any blisters.
You may use a
betadine dipped sterile gauze for him to clean any raw areas.
After cleansing you may apply a topical antibacterial like silver sulphadiazine Or
mupirocin ointment, twice daily and may cover it lightly with a sterile dressing.
Watch out for signs of infection like increase in pain, swelling,
redness, oozing and frank pus formation.
If you notice any of these signs you must take him to a doctor.
These would entail that he would require
Oral antibiotics to help resolve infection.
