Suggest Treatment For Skin Burn

Hi, my right hand came in contact with the heating iron, while pressing the clothes.I applied Soframycin to the affected area and now ( 30 minutes),there seems to be a small white discoloration of the skin with localized burning sensation along the discolored area. Pls advice if this is not a problem.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

I suggest soaking the wound in cool water for five minutes or longerand taking acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain relief.

I recommend applying lidocaine (an anesthetic) with aloe vera gel or cream to soothe the skin.

In case of an infection I suggest using an antibiotic ointment and loose gauze to protect the affected area.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contappct me again.

Kind regards!
