Suggest Treatment For Skin Rashes In A Child

Hello im a mother of a 16months old baby girl...she had some rashes on her face....her pediatrician adviced a cream named topcort...which i had been using since 7months...now i see that the rashes disappear whn i apply...but the moment i stop using it appears again....i have completely stopped using it now...n now my daigherts face has small acne n reddish n her comlexion has become very dull....i showed to a dermetolisgist he sa8d because of ateroids it has happend and it is a fungal infection n has prescribed me candid cream...0lz give ur review and tell me will my baby be ok n return to her same fair complexion

Hi..

I understand your concern. As rightly told by your dermatologist, the acne and redness is because of long term application of steroid cream on face. The child might have also developed a fungal infection secondary to its use. To reverse this it takes some time and patience. Continue candid cream as per instructions. In the mean time, the child might get recurrences due to the steroid dependence. But do not panic! On slow withdrawal of steroid cream, the skin will be back to normal.
