Suggest Treatment For Skin Tear In Pubic Area

Thanks! I went to the bathroom a couple of nights ago (urinated), and I was in a hurry, so I guess I wiped hard, and fast. My fingers broke through the toilet paper, and I started to bleed. I bled for nearly 24 hours, but only heavily for the first few hours. Now, I ve stopped bleeding, but I am in pain. By the way, I am a virgin, so it has nothing to do with sex....

Hello,

I can understand your concern for skin tear in pubic area.

After going through your complete query an analyzing it with best diligence, I reassure you fully that the condition is totally normal and is usually seen in our general practice.

It is due to the fact that the genital area is quite soft and the blood supply is very profuse at this area. So in any case if there is penetrative injury then it causes damage to the blood vessels and these blood vessels can bleed for long time.

I suggest you to be careful and gentle next time. In any future episode if occurs then should compress the area with sterilized gauze cotton for atleast 1-2 hours.

For the present episode I suggest you to apply an antibiotic cram such as gentamycin or mupirocin. Maintain good hygiene to prevent any infection.
