Dermatologist 's  Response
My Dear

Welcome to this site!

I have noted your details and concerns.

From the description that you have given I think you are having Pityriasis versicolor. This is a fungal skin condition that results in usually light colored or brownish patches scattered over trunk and sometimes limbs and face.

To my patients, I advise the following and invariably the response is encouraging.

1 Check if there is any shortcoming in your hygiene because the condition is known to affect those who sweat a lot or the sweat does not evaporate because of synthetic garments

2 A broad spectrum anti fungal in the form of Flucanazole given as weekly doses of 400 mg for three weeks helps most patients

3 Local anti fungal preparations containing Miconazole daily and with or without Selenium Sulfide preparations used every week provide great help in early resolution
4 The condition takes several months, sometimes 4-6 months to clear up but almost always resolves without residual spots.

I believe these suggestions will put you on the road to recovery and we will soon learn about your recovery

Best wishes
