Suggest Treatment For Small Painful Boils On The Groin Area
Hi I have suffered with boils for most of my life. But after I had my appendices out last Christmas I have had these 2 large cysts come up. 1 is at the bottom left of my groin and doesn t seem to go away. The other is at the top right from my hip going into the groin area. I was give amoxicillin 500mg tablets which I took and then I was given fucidin cream which I have been putting on twice a day as instructed by doctor. When feeling around it it feels like there is more than one cyst there and instead of it being round, it s long and thick like a tube. It has become quite painfull today which has made it hard to walk around. Is there anything else I can try to get rid of this as this is the third time it has come back now please.
Hi. As per your case history you are having cyst, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. If there is pain you can take NSAID like ibuprofen. 4. Only curative treatment is excision under local anesthesia done by a dermato-surgeon.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
