Suggest Treatment For Small Painful Bump On The Lips
I have small bumps on my lips that seem bigger in size than they used to be. There are now new smaller ones forming that look like a small bump witg a black head. I have tried to pop them but it hurts and makes my lip swell slightly. Ant idea of what this could be?
As per your query and presentation of symptoms of having recurring bumps over lips, the most common cause seems to be Herpes Virus Infection causeing Cold Sores.. They are small fluid filled blisters present in clusters over the lips.. You should consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and in case if viral infection is suspected physician may advise you to get investigations like Viral culture and antigen antibody reaction done to confirm the diagnosis.. For herpes oral intake of anti-viral medications like Acyclovir , Famicyclovir can be advised. Topical ointments like Valtrex containing Valacyclovir or Acyclovir containing ointment can also be advised for reducing viral count..
In case if viral infection is negative other causes like bacterial infection, sun blisters etc can be ruled out..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
