Suggest Treatment For Small Painful Bump On The Neck
Hello, my mother hasn t been feeling well. She noticed a small bump on the left side of her neck . It started oozing green puss and is now scabby. Her neck hurts and so does behind her eye please help I am very worried . She went to urgent care where they prescribed her bactrim
hello. I have read your question and understand your concern.
painful bump oozing pus is most likely due to bacterial infection. she needs a course of antibiotics and painkillers.
I usually start a penicillin group antibiotic for such patients like augmentin. also I get a pus culture sensitivity done. this helps just in case the first antibiotic doesn't work.
I suggest you continue with bactrim, observe for 1-2 days. if there is response then continue with bactrim. if not then ask your doctor to change the antibiotics. meanwhile get a pus culture sensitivity done.
hope this helps. for any further questions please get back to us. thanks.
