Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Chest Congestion

My daughter is 28 years old and has had a sore throat since Tuesday, fever no higher than 100.5, on most days in the 99 range, also has a cough and congestion. The congestion was starting to break up 2 days ago. No body aches. Should she see a doctor?

Otolaryngologist/ENT Doctor 's  Response
Hi,

The brief clinical history you provided suggests that your daughter could be suffering from an infection in the throat. Please ask her to gargle with warm salt water thrice daily for 3 days. Anti-inflammatory medications could be helpful. She may probably need a course of an antibiotic.
Please consult your doctor and follow his/her advice if the symptoms persist beyond 2 days.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dr. Prasad
