Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Most of the sore throats are initially viral cause. So antibiotic is not needed in beginning. You can do warm saline gargle, drink warm chicken soup with pepper, Lemon tea and take vitamin C.I usually give antihistamines like levocetirizine and acetaminophen for this.If there is nasal congestion then i give nasal decongesants also.If there is any signs of bacterial infection then i advise antibiotics like Co-amoxiclav or azithromycin.Take enough rest and keep yourself warm.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query. Thanks
