Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...Two months ago I had a total hip replacement and now have had a sore throat in the morning only but am hoarse and cough sometimes. What point do I see a doctor? Or do I even need to?
Combination of sore throat with coughing and hoarseness needs medical attention. This can be started with viral infection which needs symptomatic and supportive treatment in the form of anti-inflammatory with decongestant and may be cough syrup. But this can turn into secondary bacterial infection and needs additional antibiotic. This can be best decided by your Doctor and thus needs to consult one.
Get started with basic treatment, get investigations done as advised and proper definitive treatment as would be prescribed. Having had hip replacement 2 months ago may not be a cause of worry but it is better to get cured for sore throat asap.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
