Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat,cold And Blocked Nose

cleaned my kitchen the night before last with bleach and then with windex. i woke up yesterday with a sore throat and that has turned into the worst head cold i ve ever had. i can t breath through my nose and cold medicine isn t working. i can t sit up very long. i just want to sleep but i can t breathe so i can t sleep. should i be worried? will this go away on its own with time or should i go to a hospital?

Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic

Looking at your symptoms,most probably you are suffering from inflammation in the nose and throat due to inhalation of fumes of bleach.

You may find relief by taking the following medication:
Analgesic with Antiinflammatory like Ibuprofen,. Antacid like Rantac,
Antihistaminic like Loratidine,
Oral decongestant like Phenylephrine and Nasal decongestant drops like Xylometazoline(take only if you are not suffering from hypertension),
Cough expectorant like Ambroxol,if you are suffering from cough.

Also drink lots of warm fluids.Steam inhalation.Do warm saline Charles.Avoid cold food and dust.
Next time,use a face mask when cleaning with bleach.

If you suffer from symptoms like Fever,Chest pain,pus discharge from nose,etc,tjen it would be advisable to consult an Otolaryngologist/Physician Doctor.
