Hi,
I can understand your concern.
First I want to discuss what is spastic colon:
- Spastic Colon is a
functional disorder in which the bowel doesn't work normally.
- It does not harm your bowl much.
- Its symptoms aggravated by stress, food like high fat, insoluble fibers, fried products, dairy products, alcohol, caffeine.
- At present no permanent cure is available for spastic colon.
So you should accept the fact that
1) There is no permanent cure for for your problem.
2) It wont damage your bowls.
3) It only gives symptoms of altered bowl habits like
constipation or
diarrhoea, abdominal cramps,
bloating which are subjected to individual's tolerance level.
4) Try to identify food and situations that aggravate the symptoms and try to prevent them.
5) Avoid stress, spicy, oily, fried food, dairy products, insoluble fibers.
6) Drink plenty of liquids, regular exercise, try
relaxation techniques.
7) Drugs like antacids, prokinetics may help you.
Hope this helps you, if so do vote.
