Suggest Treatment For Spotting While On Mirena Birth Control Pills

I use mirena as birth control and I’ve had it about 5 months or so. It has made my periods way lighter, mainly just spotting. But I’m 5 or so days late this month but I’ve experienced all of the PMS signed just no actual period. Is the BC getting rid of my period or should I be concerned about pregnancy? I also have endometriosis and ovarian cyst

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Pregnancy is unlikely while having Mirena IUD. However, a pregnancy test is advised to rule out the rare chances also. The Periods are delayed most likely due to the hormonal effect of the Mirena.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
