Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I don't know whether I sprained my wrist or what but I can move my fingers and my wrist sideways but it hurts when I move it backwards. It does not look too swollen, or I can't tell, but my fingers burn and feel a little numb. Is this minor? I can't get a doctor until the morning and I am afraid to sleep on it. I don't even know what I did but I am so worried.
Hi, DIAGNOSIS: Wrist sprain. This usually happens when there is a fall on an outstretched hand where the ligaments on the volar aspect get stretched. There also could have been a sudden compression on the median nerve which may be responsible for the burning and numbness. This is come down over a period of time.
TREATMENT:1) wrist brace for about 2 weeks. 2) analgesic
