You might have had an early stage of stomach cancer and therefore recommended surgery as a treatment. It is not clear if yo also received chemotherapy or radiation as a treatment. As you might be aware, your stomach volume has been reduced after surgery and this requires you tho have small light meals throughout the day to be taken at frequent intervals.
The symptoms you experienced are due to dumping syndrome post gastric surgery. Also called rapid gastric emptying, dumping syndrome occurs when the undigested contents of your stomach move too rapidly into your small bowel. Common symptoms include abdominal cramps, nausea and diarrhea.
Most people with dumping syndrome experience symptoms soon after eating. In others, symptoms may occur one to three hours after eating. Some people experience both early and late symptoms. It is important to avoid eating too much at a time as in the recent buffet and then you will feel comfortable after taking meals. Please do not worry.
