Hello I Am a 23 year old female For the past 2-3 years I have had excruciating cramps before during and after my menstrual cycle. I also have a heavy flow and blood clots. I went to the doctor s for an ultrasound but no cysts were found. What could be causing the bad cramps? And by the way, I am not sexually active and have never been Thank you

hi,
If you have observed recent changes in your menstrual pattern, it could be hormonal, due to infection, endometriosis, hereditary etc. Since you have already had an ultrasound which ruled out any local causes, hormonal assay should be done. In addition, stress, and general infections and certain medications also can lead to cycle disturbances and should be looked for. Finally, please get a proper evaluation by a specialist in person to plan further management. Hope this helps.
