Suggest Treatment For Stomach Pain In A Child

My five year old grand son had a fever and vomited a few times on Sunday, then the fever broke early Monday morning. My daughter kept him home from daycare Monday, and he had a smalll amount of dyherria Monday morning. Since then the fever has not come back, and no more vomiting or dyherria. But he is not eating well, and complains of his chest hurting off and on up by his left up chest, as well as his tummy hurting.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

This probably suggests a viral diarrhea. No need to worry. He will be alright in 3-5 days. Till then, give frequent sips of fluids like ORS to prevent dehydration. If no relief by then or stool becomes blood stained, kindly take him to doctor. Meanwhile, you can give him acetaminophen to control stomach pain

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
