Suggest Treatment For Strange Mark Below Hip

Hello! I noticed a strange mark below my hip yesterday. I thought it was a bruise, but it s a perfect circle and the middle is not discolored. It s a little bigger than a half dollar. It was a mark in the middle but is not fangs. It doesn t hurt when I press it and doesn t itch or feel irritant. I m living in Alaska, do you have any idea what caused it?

Hi.
As per your case history you are probably having granuloma annulare.
My treatment advice is -
1. It is a chronic disease with self resolution sometimes.
2. It may be associated with diabetes. So if there is family history of diabetes, then get it checked.
3. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesion twice daily.
4. Other treatment options are oral doxycyline, oral vitamin E, vitamin D3 taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
