Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist, Dr. Omair's Response
Hello,
Strep Throat can sometime leave with a troublesome post infective cough which may persist for few weeks. Is the cough dry (Most common scenario)? You can take: 1. Tab Claritin 10mg for 7 days to reduce any irritation in the throat 2. Warm saline gargles (To relieve congestion) 3. Honey in warm water with some fresh mint leaves (Helps to soothe the throat) 4. Cough syrup like Nyquil or Mucinex could be helpful 5. Sinex nasal spray 2 puffs Once a day (if nasal blockage / post nasal dripping) If symptoms persists, then please visit your local ENT doctor for further assessment and management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
