Suggest Treatment For Subchorionic Bleed During Pregnancy
I am 34 years old, 13 weeks pregnant, and miscarried earlier this year. I have a subchorionic bleed and i am concerned for the baby. Dr says the baby has a strong steady heartbeat and is growing as should be. The bleeding and spotting is random. Will this eventually heal itself, what can i do?
Hi, I have gone through your question. Subchorionic haemorrhage is a bleeding which occurs between the fetal membranes. If the fetal growth is appropriate to the gestation age and fetal heart beat is present, then the subchorionic haemorrhage is unlikely to affect the pregnancy. However, progesterone support should be given in the form of capsules or injections, in order to make the uterine environment more favourable for foetus, in case the subchorionic haemorrhage affects the blood supply to the fetus. Your doctor has given you appropriate information. This haemorrhage eventually gets resolved by itself. You should avoid heavy exercises, lifting heavy objects and intercourse till it gets resolved in ultrasound. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Regards, Dr Deepti verma
