Suggest Treatment For Suicidal Thoughts And Thoughts Of Self Harm

Hi. I'm having some issues with suicidal thoughts and thoughts of self harm. I've been this way for a few years but it seems to be getting worse. Because I've been going through it for so long, I was just wondering if maybe I'd be okay dealing with it on my own, or would it be an idea to see a doctor, and if so, what kind of treatment would be recommended?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing.
Suicidal thoughts are serious, and should not be neglected. You need professional care at the earliest. Please consult a psychiatrist. You may require both drugs and psychotherapy.
Hope this helps,
Dr A Rao
