Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Bruising In Foot After An Injury
hi my girlfriend sort of twisted her foot last night, by instead of stepping on the side of it she stepped in a way that had the above side of her foot under, like when your dragging your foot the top side got underneath wich has made her foot swollen up and turn purple and blue, what should we do? should we do an xray on it or?
Swollen and bruised foot due to injury needs medical help. A possibility of fracture cannot be denied. I suggest you take her to ER for better medical management. Along with physical examination the doctors in ER will suggest X-ray of the foot to see if there is any fracture along with other serious tissue injury present or not.
Depending on the injury they will do appropriate management for relief. Also she should take sufficient rest and avoid walking or putting pressure on that foot for at least 1-2 weeks. It will heal faster with proper rest and care.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
