Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Difficulty In Walking Of Legs
I am finding it hard to walk. During the day I have been ringing it more difficult to put weight on my right foot. The only way I can now walk is by putting all the weight to the slide of my foot. I am unable to flex my toes and the ball of my foot is begining to swell
If the main problem is swelling that is causing you pain, I'd suggest keeping them elevated as much as possible throughout the day. Avoid standing for long periods of time but do continue to walk as the muscles pumping in your leg will help with this. In addition you should see a vascular surgeon to evaluate the source of your swelling, they can treat your veins if this is the problem, prescribe compression socks or refer you to a lymphedema specialist. A lymphedema therapist specialized in managing swelling in the arms and legs.
