Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain In Nose Of A Child

Hi, my two year old fell yesterday on tiles and his nose bled, and it started to swell and bruise more or less straight away. I took him to the gp, but he reckoned it was not broken, bit today nearly 24 hours after it happened it's still very swollen. And very sore to touch, what should I do

Hello. Thank you for your question. This is a very common occurrence in this age group. It helps to apply ice or cool compress immediately after the injury is sustained. This will often minimize the swelling and bruising. After 24 hours, however, there isn't anything we can do. We are reassured by the fact that it will heal with time and look as good as new after the healing process. This can take days, sometimes weeks. There is no cause for concern, it will heal with time.
