Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain In Shin Caused By An Injury

I fell into an old hole in my yard and injured my shin. Already there is a bruise forming and it is swollen. The pain radiates downward toward my foot. I can walk on it, but it hurts a lot. The pain gets worse when I stand (about a 7.5) but if I sit for a while the pain dies down (about a 3.5). My knee and calf muscle feel fine, just the top of my leg hurts.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient
You have got bruise on shin with swelling that needs active treatment. First of all I would advise radiograph of tibia and fibula anteroposterior and lateral views to rule out bony abnormalities. If it turns normal do not worry. Apply cold compress over affected area to reduce swelling and inflammation. Take tab diclofenac plus serratiopeptodase combination twice a day for reducing pain and inflammation. Apply crepe bandage on leg. And hope for the best.
