Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain On Buttocks After Getting IM Injections
Hi, I have had 2 IM injections in buttocks, and 1 day after the injection in right one it got swollen and hurts a lot, I have difficulty walking and have been taking pain killer which helps but it keeps coming back, its been almost 6 days and I still its swollen , I had bad fever soon after i started experiencing the swelling , and now with the second injection on my left buttock its swollen too after 2 days , it was normal but started swelling and hurting as well. I have never had issues with syringes before
Inflammation (pain & swelling) after getting IM injections can be relieved by taking pain relieving medicines (Combiflam, one SOS when needed). Applying an ice pack is quite effective in causing relief. But if it is hurting & you do not get relieve, visit ER, get clinically examined. If you have developed infection or abscess in the injection site you may need antibiotics & topical medicines.
