Just over 3 months ago I was diagnosed with achilles tendonitis (no tests were carried out, however, they examined the foot). I have done everything I have been advised to do. Rest, ice, keep foot raised, physiotherapy, heel raises, calf stretches, anti inflammatory's, painkillers, foot inserts designed for achilles tendonitis etc etc. The swelling has always been there. 2 weeks ago I will doing the heel raises and heard and felt a pop which followed with burning and stinging. I rang my physiotherapist the next day who said that they weren't too worried with it and to just not do that particular stretch. I left it a week in which it was really painful (more than usual). Eventually I called my GP who referred me to an orphopaedic who then sent me straight to A&E to have a scan and be put in cast. When I got to A&E 2 nurses and a junior orphopaedic doctor agreed that it was probably partially torn and the senior doctor said it was not partially torn. They have booked me in for an ultrasound scan followed by the fracture clinic for the results this week. I have not been put in cast or anything but just told not to use it and rest it at home just in case it is torn. I am slightly worried that I have not been treated how I should have been treated and was hoping you could give me some advice. Thanks
