Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Redness Due To Wasp Sting
I was stung by a wasp on the finger yesterday. It swelled up quite a bit but then as the day progressed it kept getting better. However when I woke up this morning it has swollen back to the previous size, and the redness has moved to the top of my hand. Should I see a dr?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that you have got an allergic reaction to the toxic chemical that has been injected under your skin by the wasp leading to inflammation and swelling and as it has spread to the top of hand, it is due to allergic reaction only and will resolve gradually when the reaction will subside..
You need not to worry and start taking anti allergics like benadryl or levocetrizine to relieve the swelling and redness.. You can do cool compresses over the swollen area.. If there is pain you can take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
In case if the symptoms keep spreading to further parts of body consult an Emergency care and they can give injectable steroids for relief..
Hope this information helps..
