Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Throbbing Sensation On Fingers
I brushed my left finger along the pointed end of a cactus approximately 4 days ago. Immediately, I felt pain and discomfort. Now, the finger is slightly swollen, the joint is swollen and the skin is sensitive to touch. When my finger is in the dependent position I can feel a throbbing sensation. I also feel a slight headache and body ache. What are your recommendations???? It does hurt to type this question!
Hi. As per your case history you are having swelling and pain on finger, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and swelling for 5-7 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
