Suggest Treatment For Swelling Caused By Wasp Sting In Pregnancy
My wife is 14 weeks pregnant and was just stung by a red wasp twice. Once on the wrist and once on the back. Her wrist and back has quite a bit of swelling and she has a sever family history of allergic reactions to wasp stings. What can she take for the swelling and is the baby going to be ok?
HI Well come to HCM In the pregnancy all the medicines are highly contraindicated particularly in second trimester, here in my opinion you need to wait for natural remission if the redness and allergic rash comes around on its own, but the main concern would be anaphylaxis reaction, if the symptoms is suggestive of something like this then this need to be treated in ER, otherwise condition can be treated with Diphenhydramine lotion, hope this information helps.
