Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Hand And Bulging Veins After Dogbite
I had a dog bite in my right hand. It healed after 3 weeks. A couple of days after, my hand started swelling and have been in pain specially at night. My veins would be bulging that is very painful. Never a day that I was never in pain and it s been since May . Do I need to have MRI to rule out the problem?
Hi. As per your case history you are having a bacterial infection of skin. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for 5-7 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin and linezolid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
