Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Stomach When On Treatment For Copd
My mother in Law has copd and is on Hospice care at this time. She is swelling around stomach area, and now water is starting to come out of her nose also. She only has 10pct lung capacity at this time, and no pulse oxygen reading on left side. Are her Kidneys filling with fluid and starting to shut down?
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. COPD is chronic progressive disease. In end stages it can cause systemic complications like Right sided heart failure, left sided heart failure, pulmonary edema, fluid overload, hypotension and renal shut down. So for her symptoms like ascites (water in stomach), water coming from nose and mouth (pulmonary edema) can be due to Either heart failure or fluid overload due to renal shutdown. Since she is already in hospice care, there is nothing much we can do. But these are not good signs for her. She is going towards end stage disease. Better to accept the fate.
