Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Finger Post An Injury

When I jam a finger the healing process now takes 1-2 years and the finger stays swollen for the first year. Now I have Sciatica that gets worse with PT, and I am wondering if Rheumatoid arthritisis to blame for these problems. Mother and Grandmother had crippling arthritis. I am only 56 and very active. Constant pain in hands, back, and down back of leg is becoming a problem.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Consult an orthopedician and get evaluated to look for any possible residual injury.

As of now, you can take analgesics like Acetaminophen or Tramadol for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
