My friend's bottom eyelid is swollen. He thinks a bug may have gotten in the eye or may have bitten his eye. Within minutes it spread to his face and soon afterwards his whole body became itchy. We managed to get him Benadryl gel caps within 10 minutes but is there anything else we should do?
Hello It seems from the history that your friend is having sudden onset of swelling of the eyelids involving the face probably following a bug bite. The treatment of the condition is by use of anti-allergic drugs. Benadryl being an anti-allergic drug can be used for treatment of the condition. Applying cold compression will provide symptomatic relief. If the condition is not responding then steroids may be required. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor to assess the severity of the condition and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
