Suggest Treatment For Swelling On Knee And Lower Legs

I did something to my right knee about two months ago not sure what, my husband and I were dancing and the next thing I know my knee starts hurting about after 3 hrs the pain was so intense that even 800mg of advil did nothing for it. My Husband got me some extra strength arthritis meds 650mg I took 2 of these and it also did nothing for the pain. Besides the swelling around my knee I recently started having swelling in my lower leg and foot even bruising around the ankles. I went and saw a doctor on Sat. Nov 1st because I feared I may have a blood clot she referred me to an Orthopedic doctor for a possible MRI is there something I should be specifically asking when I see them? Or anything that you may think may be the cause of this

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you may have suffered ligament injury to your knee. Treatment of it is rest to the joint and analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. If pain is not relieved you can take strong analgesic such as tramadol. MRI of knee joint will be helpful in diagnosis. During your visit to Orthopedic surgeon you can ask for osteoarthritis, ligament injury and meniscus injury You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
