Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
You seem to have a condition known as Angioedema.
Angioedema or Quincke's edema is rapid swelling of the dermis,
subcutaneous tissue, mucosa and submucosal tissues.
It can be either Acquired or herditary.
Oral medications like Painkillers and Anti-hypertensives particularly ACE inhibitors are a common cause.
Angioedema can occur due to various other causes like(similar to urticaria) like Infections(bacterial , viral, fungal); Certain foods and food additives/preservatives etc
Angioedema can be hereditary. There is a family history in affected patients.
It can be idiopathic as well.
Treatment of
acquired angioedema is with an OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily Or one of the prescription antihistamine e.g loratadine or
fexofenadine, once daily.
Treatment options for
hereditary angioedema is with complement factors, anabolic steroids, danazol etc
I suggest you to visit a
dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis as well as appropriate treatment
