Suggest Treatment For Swelling, Pain And Redness On Shin Area Post Injury

Hi I got kicked in the shin really hard about 4-5 months ago. I didn t go to a doctor because I thought the bruise would go away after a couple of days. However, the area is still a tiny little swollen, it is slightly red and I can still feel a dent in what seems to be the shin bone? Is this still normal after this time and will go away, or should I rather have it checked out by a doctor?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi
This could well be due to minor injury to bone leading to new bone formation. It takes time for such injury to resolve. My advise would be to apply Ice and may take drug trypsin/chymotrypsin to resorb swelling.Get it prescribed by your local doctor.
If swelling persist may visit Orthopaedic surgeon.
Take care
