Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Bruised Skin After Injury

Hello, I was hit in the arm yesterday by a golden croaker fish which the top fins pierced my skin on my arm. I bled out where the puncture holes were and it immediately swollen and was welped. I put some hand sanitizer on it until I got home and once home, I bathed, rubbed the area with alcohol and applied some antibiotic ointment on the area. Today it is still swollen and bruised. Should I be concerned?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi

you seem to have developed some infection at the site of injury .
Keep the affected area clean and dry.
Wash the affected area with lukewarm saline water twice daily.
Apply a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over the lesion twice daily.
You might need a course of oral antibiotics if the lesion still tends to persist or increase.
