Candidiasis is a fungal infection which causes swelling, redness and itching on the vulva. It may or may not be associated with vaginal candidiasis which causes white vaginal itchy discharge. You need to treat it with an antifungal like oral fluconazole. You can also apply a topical cream containing 1 % Clotrimazole twice a day for 2 weeks. An antihistamine like 5 mg Levocetrizine at bedtime will help in symptomatic relief. Allergic contact dermatitis could occur as a reaction to various contact allergens like latex, perfumes ( in creams and lotions), deodorants, etc. If you can find any suspecting contact allergen , try to stop it and see if the condition improves.
