Have a 17 year old male who has a swollen left outer ear. It is 2-3 times bigger than his right ear. Very red, hurts to touch and is also warm to the touch. Does not complain of inner ear pain just the outside lobe and has had no hit or trauma to the ear.

I recommend the following. 1) A course of antibiotics. 2) Analgesic like tablet paracetamol. 3) Magnesium sulphate ear pack do decrease edema. You will be fine. Hope I have answered your question.
