Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Knee After Injury
I was hit fairly hard with a field hockey stick right about the knee cap today. My knee was read and swollen right away.I immediately dropped to the ground but then continued to play. It hurt pretty badly to walk on at first but I got used to the pain. it hurts to put pressure on and I cannot bend it all the way. I already have knee problems. My knee is swollen and starting to bruise and I m in a lot of pain.
Hi, Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you had knee injury. It seems to me soft tissue injury . But X-ray should be done to exclude the fracture of patella. These injuries are slow to heal , may took 2-3 weeks time to heal. Its treatment assuming soft tissue injury is rest to part. Icing is helpful. Analgesic ( ibuprofen) will be helpful in pain relief , if pain relief not there by it then strong analgesic such as tramadol can be taken. You can take vitamin B-complex and C to promote healing. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
