Hi, I have got swelling and redness in the vagina after using Veet Hair Removal Cream. I over kept it than prescribed. I have a lot of burning there... Temporarily I have washed the area and applied lots of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. What else can I do to rectify it????
I can understand your concern. It seems that you have experienced an allergic reaction due to the hair removal cream that is very commonly experienced among women. Only vaseline and washing will not help in such situation.
I would advise you to take antihistamine Levocetrizine 5 mg (Levocet) once a day for 5 days. Do not use anything else in the area as there are chances it may worsen the situation. If the symptoms do not improve and instead if they worsen, you should visit an emergency room or dermatologist as you may require intramuscular injection of corticosteroid to control the allergic reaction. Stay away from this cream in future as the future allergic reaction may be higher than severity than this one.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. Let me know if you have follow up questions.
