Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Tender Ankle

About 6 weeks ago, I slipped hiking and hurt my ankle. It swelled up a lot, and so I iced it, elevated it, put a compression bandage on it, and took an anti-inflammatory. I have been trying to take care of it, but the swelling or lump is still there (it isn t as big as it was six weeks ago). It is still tender when I push on it, and it feels a little numb where the lump is. I already went to have it x-rayed, they said that it wasn t broken and sent me home. Should I be worried, or just let it continue to heal?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query . You should once more undergo an orthopedic examination and X ray if necessary as hair line fracture won't show up in initial X ray. The swelling could be haematoma. Applying hot water bags will be helpful in easy absorption. But if it causes pain or trouble some it should be evacuated surgically. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
Thanks
